Ban on Worship and Home Bible Studies Faces Legal Challenge

LOS ANGELES, CA -- Liberty Counsel filed a lawsuit in federal court seeking a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction on behalf of Harvest Rock Church and Harvest International Ministry against Governor Gavin Newsom’s unconstitutional COVID-19 orders prohibiting all indoor worship services, including home Bible studies and fellowship, while encouraging mass gatherings of protestors throughout the state.

 

Local Churches at Crossroads: Some Vow to Reopen, Defying Governor’s Orders

More than 1,200 pastors, including some in Pasadena, have electronically signed a letter declaring they will reopen their churches on May 31, in defiance of the governor’s phased reopening plan, according to an attorney representing a church in Lodi suing the state.
